A Laptop Where You Can Easily Replace Almost Everything: The World's First Semi-Modular Model Schenker Element 16 is Presented
The German company Schenker presented a unique laptop Element 16 at CES 2026 which became the world's first semi-modular laptop allowing users to independently replace key components - from ports to the motherboard. The model was created in collaboration with Pegatron and Intel and is aimed at a long service life, repairability, and future upgrades of processor generations.
What's Known
Schenker Element 16 is based on the Intel Core Ultra 7 356H processor from the Panther Lake family and features a design that allows for self-replacement of I/O modules, battery, cooling fans, SSD, and RAM. The lower part of the body is equipped with a quick-release panel that simplifies access to internal components and regular cleaning.
As for technical characteristics, Schenker reported that in addition to top Intel processors, the laptop has a 16-inch screen with a 16:10 aspect ratio and up to 2560 x 1000 resolution with 100% sRGB coverage, and the design has been tested in accordance with MIL STD-810H standards. The laptop supports Thunderbolt 4, TPM 2.0, Wi-Fi 7, and Bluetooth 6.
Industry media were impressed by the modular laptop and note that Schenker truly created a device that is easy to upgrade and repair without the need for workshop visits or extensive technical knowledge.
The start date of sales and the price of Element 16 will be announced later.
Please note that Schenker showcased the device as a concept M16P at the exhibition, while the European retail version will be sold under the name Schenker Element 16.
