Lenovo announced the release of another portable gaming console with pre-installed SteamOS instead of Windows 11. Recall that the first complete device not from Valve was a special version of the Legion Go S, which The choice is clear: a blogger proved the advantages of SteamOS over Windows 11 while using the operating system on Lenovo Legion Go S compared to the version that used an OS from Microsoft.

At the CES 2026 exhibition, the Taiwanese company confirmed that it will release a new version of the Legion Go 2 in the summer, which will be sold with pre-installed SteamOS. It is almost identical to the model with Windows, but there is one important difference - the OS from Valve does not support biometric control, so the button with the fingerprint scanner will be inactive.
SteamOS is better optimized for games, has a more convenient interface, and takes up less space on the storage, so you should expect that the powerful Legion Go 2 will demonstrate a significant performance increase.
The price of the console will remain the same — $1200.

Legion Go 2 debuted in October 2025 and received an 8.8″ OLED screen with a resolution of up to 1920×1200, a refresh rate of 30-144 Hz, and VRR support.
The main feature of the console is a powerful AMD Ryzen Z2 or Z2 Extreme processor (depending on the chosen configuration) with eight cores and sixteen threads. The integrated graphics uses the RDNA 3.5 architecture and has 16 compute units and a frequency of up to 2900 MHz.
The gadget has 16 or 32 GB of RAM (LPDDR5X-8000) and storage up to 2 TB. The battery capacity of the Legion Go 2 is 74 W, the body received a new coating, and the console is protected from overheating by the updated Legion Coldfront cooling system.
The console has detachable controllers like the Nintendo Switch, six programmable buttons. For shooter enthusiasts, there is an FPS mode, where one of the controllers can be used like a mouse.
The Lenovo console is equipped with two USB 4 ports, a microSD UHS-II slot, and a 3.5 mm jack.
