Introduced budget smartphone Poco M8 5G with bright AMOLED display, 5500mAh battery, and long software support
Poco introduced a new mid-range smartphone Poco M8 5G — an affordable model with a focus on a bright AMOLED display, decent autonomy, and extended software support.
What is known
The smartphone features a 6.77” AMOLED display with a 120Hz refresh rate and peak brightness up to 3200 nits, ensuring excellent readability in the sunlight. The screen supports Full HD+ resolution and uses high-frequency PWM control, reducing eye strain.
At the core of the device is the Snapdragon 6 Gen 3 chipset, complemented by 8GB of LPDDR4X RAM and up to 512GB of UFS 2.2 standard storage, expandable with microSD memory cards up to 1TB.
The Poco M8 5G received a 5520mAh battery with 45W fast charging and 18W reverse wired charging.
The main camera includes a 108MP module and an 8MP ultra-wide sensor, while the front camera has a 20MP resolution.
The smartphone also features IP65-rated body protection, providing resistance to dust and water splashes. The manufacturer promises four years of Android updates and six years of security patches, which distinguishes the novelty among mid-range competitors.
Poco M8 5G runs on Android 15 with HyperOS 2 shell. Other features include stereo speakers, NFC, 5G support, and a thin body with a thickness of just 7.35mm.
Sales will start on the global market on January 13 at a price starting from $245.
