Cuts Everything: The World's First Ultrasonic Kitchen Knife C200 Ultrasonic for Home Use Unveiled at CES 2026
At CES 2026, alongside a huge number of high-tech gadgets and robots, there was also room for a novelty that will interest culinary enthusiasts.
The startup Seattle Ultrasonics presented the C200 Ultrasonic — the world's first ultrasonic kitchen knife, specifically designed for home use. The novelty immediately attracted the attention of visitors thanks to its technology, which makes the cutting process noticeably easier.
What is Known
The main feature of the C200 Ultrasonic is the blade that vibrates over 30,000 times per second. This microvibration is created with the help of PZT-8 piezoelectric crystals, which expand when an electric current is applied. The amplitude of the oscillations is only 10–20 microns, so it is not visible to the eye and feels like a slight pulsation in the hand.
It is claimed that this technology reduces friction between the blade and the product, decreases sticking, allows cutting with significantly less effort, and makes slicing soft products nearly perfectly smooth.
The C200 Ultrasonic is made of Japanese AUS-10 steel, hardened to 60 HRC, making it a full-fledged kitchen knife even without activating the ultrasound. A small button on the handle activates the vibration.
The knife is equipped with a removable 1100 mAh battery and charges via USB-C or a wireless pad.
The C200 Ultrasonic is water-resistant to the IP65 standard.
The knife costs $400, pre-orders are already open, and the first deliveries are expected in March 2026.
