Baldur's Gate 3 is rightly one of the best role-playing games in the history of the industry and its genre. It has received numerous awards, a score of 97 on Metacritic, and recognition from millions of gamers. However, Nintendo Switch 2 users will not be able to experience this undeniably great game.

What is known

Belgian developers from Larian Studios held a Q&A; session with gamers and although it was mainly dedicated to the new game Divinity, users still inquired when Baldur's Gate 3 would come to Switch 2.

Unfortunately, the response from studio head Swen Vincke left no hope — the game will not appear on Nintendo consoles.

We would love to, but it was not our decision...

Thus, it can be assumed that for unknown reasons, the company Hasbro, which owns the rights to the Dungeons & Dragons universe, where the events of Baldur’s Gate unfold, does not wish for the game to be available on Switch, although it is obvious it would be in high demand on this console as well. It cannot be ruled out that Nintendo itself opposes the game's release on its platform.

Perhaps the situation will change in the future, but for now Switch 2 users will have to focus on other games.

Baldur’s Gate 3 is available on PC, Xbox Series, and PlayStation 5.

P.S. Larian Studios "will definitely consider" the availability of Divinity on Nintendo Switch 2.
