Wing expands drone delivery to another 150 Walmart stores in the USA

Alphabet-owned Wing has announced an expansion of its drone delivery service in partnership with Walmart. Over the next year, the service will appear in another 150 network stores, including Los Angeles, St. Louis, Cincinnati, Miami, and other U.S. cities.

What is known

According to Wing, 25% of the most active customers use delivery up to three times a week. To meet demand, the companies plan to reach up to 40 million users and deploy a network of 270 delivery points by 2027.

The partnership launched in August 2023 with delivery in the Dallas–Fort Worth area. In June 2025, coverage expanded to 100 stores in Atlanta, Charlotte, Houston, Orlando, and Tampa. In December, the service became available in Atlanta, and a launch in Houston is expected on January 15.

Before partnering with Walmart, Wing worked with the pharmacy network Walgreens. The company also has partnerships with DoorDash and British medical logistics company Apian. Additionally, Wing is developing a new drone model with a payload capacity of up to 5 pounds and a maximum speed of 65 miles per hour.
