At CES 2026, MSI introduced the first consumer video card with a TDP of over 1000 W — GeForce RTX 5090 Lightning Z.

The graphics processor has incredibly powerful specifications, and MSI is not in a hurry to reveal its cost, but we presumed it would be no less than $5000.

The company promised to release only 1300 copies of this model, which has already gained the status of one of the most unusual and powerful video cards in history.

What is Known

A popular brand provides the opportunity to win one GeForce RTX 5090 Lightning Z, and all you need to do is leave a comment with the hashtag #LightningBreakLimit under MSI's post on Instagram, X, or Facebook.

By the way, there are also two other prizes in the draw: an RTX 5070 and a set of a keyboard and a mouse.

For Those Not Aware

Lightning Z is equipped with a completely maintenance-free liquid cooling system with a 360 mm radiator, a copper cold plate, and a new high-pressure pump. The water block cover features an 8” display — a first for video cards of this class. The screen is used for monitoring parameters, displaying animations, and customization.

The video card is powered by two 12V-2×6 connectors, and MSI strongly recommends using a power supply of at least 1600 W. In Boost mode, the GPU operates at a frequency of 2730 MHz, and in the proprietary Extreme mode — up to 2775 MHz. The power subsystem includes 40 phases, making the card suitable for extreme overclocking using liquid nitrogen.

It is known that Lightning Z will be released in a limited edition — only 1300 units. Already at the announcement stage, the card set 17 world records in benchmarks thanks to extreme overclocking and a powerful cooling system.
