Garmin introduced the new generation of its smartwatches — Quatix 8 Pro, aimed at professional sailors, fishermen, and water sports enthusiasts. The novelty supports inReach satellite communication and an expanded set of features for ship control and navigation.
What is known
The watches are available in two sizes — 47 mm and 51 mm, equipped with a 1.4” AMOLED screen with a resolution of 454 × 454 pixels and protected by sapphire glass. The case is made of fiber-reinforced polymer with a titanium bezel and back cover.
The main feature of the Garmin Quatix 8 Pro is the integration of inReach technology, providing two-way satellite and LTE communication. Users can send messages, make voice calls, and send SOS signals even up to 80 km from the shore.
Quatix 8 Pro also received an updated Boat Mode, chartplotter and trolling motor control, built-in speaker and microphone, NFC, 32 GB of memory, and an LED flashlight. The claimed autonomy reaches up to 16 days in smartwatch mode, and water resistance is 10 ATM.
The novelty supports over a hundred sports modes, health monitoring, and the Garmin Pay contactless payment function.
The watches are already available for order on the European Garmin website for $1300.
