The Base Station features a modular design with removable side windows and a raising roof, providing an interior height of up to 2.1 meters. Inside, there are sleeping spaces for four people. Autonomous power supply is provided by built-in solar panels, a lithium-ion battery, and inverter, with the capability to operate from external power sources during extended stops.
The list of accessories includes an air conditioner, an external shower, and an induction stove.
According to Jane Nakagawa, Vice President of Honda RD Americas, the project demonstrates what can be achieved when engineers and designers are given the freedom for bold ideas. Such a trailer could make camping more accessible and comfortable for families.
