Gemini has learned to search for information in Gmail, Google Photos, and YouTube with user permission
Google is launching the Personal Intelligence feature. It allows the Gemini AI to consider personal context from Gmail, Google Photos, search history, and YouTube views. The feature is already available in the US for Google AI Pro and Ultra users. Activation is possible only with user consent, by default it is disabled.
What is known
Gemini does not use personal photos, mail, or viewing history for training. Instead, the system adapts based on your queries and chat responses. Users themselves choose from which apps the AI will take context. In the future, it will be possible to specify individual chats as well. You can disable personalization or clear history if desired.
Google warns that sometimes excessive personalization is possible. For example, when the AI connects unrelated topics. The new feature is already working in the Gemini app on Android, iOS, and in the web version. So far, only for personal accounts.

It is expected that Personal Intelligence will soon appear in AI Search mode. It will later become available in other countries and at the free subscription level. Gemini has already been integrated into Gmail, mobile Chrome, and televisions. This week, it was also announced about the collaboration between Google and Apple, which will use Gemini in the new Siri.
