Xiaomi announced Redmi Turbo 5 Max — a super-performing sub-flagship with the new Dimensity 9500s chipset
Xiaomi confirmed the imminent release of the new Redmi Turbo 5 series smartphones, and for the first time, an extended version will appear in the lineup — the Redmi Turbo 5 Max. The model is focused on maximum performance in the mid-range segment and is meant to be a response to the growing competition in the “performance-first” category.
What is known
Redmi Turbo 5 Max will become the most advanced device in the series, thanks to the new MediaTek Dimensity 9500s chipset, which will debut specifically in this model.
The Dimensity 9500s is manufactured using TSMC's 3nm N3E process technology. The processor includes one Cortex-X925 core with a frequency of 3.73 GHz, three Cortex-X4 cores with a frequency of 3.30 GHz, and four Cortex-A720 cores with a frequency of 2.40 GHz. Graphics are powered by a 12-core Mali Immortalis-G925 MC12 GPU.
Rumors suggest that some configurations of the device could feature up to 16 GB of RAM, as well as high performance comparable to top sub-flagships.
The Turbo 5 series is focused on energy efficiency, and the Max version could become competitive with models boasting record-breaking batteries — particularly, the HONOR Win with a 10,000 mAh battery. Although the exact battery capacity of the Turbo 5 Max has not yet been disclosed, sources emphasize that Xiaomi is betting on long life and fast charging.
The Redmi Turbo 5 series will be unveiled this month.
