Cybenetics Lab has introduced an innovative power cable for modern graphics cards, equipped with an integrated electronic control unit that monitors the current and temperature of contacts in real time. The novelty is designed as a universal solution for problems with 12VHPWR / 12V‑2×6 connectors melting, encountered on powerful GPUs (RTX 4090 and RTX 5090).

What is known

The cable is equipped with an integrated module that:

  • monitors power distribution and heating,
  • provides audio and visual signals if parameters go beyond the norm,
  • can automatically disconnect the graphics card if the user does not respond to the warning.

It is noted that the device allows setting current limits (recommended 10 A per line) and temperature (about 80°C) via software, making the cable a full-fledged monitoring system.

How the cable is arranged

Cybenetics uses a native 12V‑2×6 → 12V‑2×6 cable, integrated with a compact electronics unit. It is located directly on the power line and does not conflict with large coolers or cases. The unit inside the cable monitors each power line and provides extended security features beyond regular monitoring.

Innovative Cybenetics Antimelt cable for graphics cards

The cable is compatible with all graphics cards, including Founders Edition, and works even without active USB connection. It is still a prototype, but its functionality is already proven.

Cybenetics Lab plans to bring the device to mass production. Given the scale of the 12V‑2×6 issue, such a cable could become standard for enthusiasts and builders of powerful PCs.
