The social network Threads by Meta has surpassed Elon Musk's X for the first time in terms of the number of daily active mobile users worldwide. According to the analytics company Similarweb, in January Threads averaged 143 million users daily, while X had 126 million.

What is known

The annual growth of Threads' mobile audience was nearly 38%, while X lost almost 12% of its users. In the U.S., X still holds a slight advantage: 21.2 million versus 19.5 million; however, Threads' growth rate in the States is almost double — 42% compared to 18%.

Despite this, X remains the leader among PC users — 150 million visits daily, while the web version of Threads only counts 9 million.

Separately, Forbes reports that the popularity of Bluesky, another text-based social network, has sharply declined. After the departure of Twitter co-founder Jack Dorsey from the board, the number of Bluesky mobile app users decreased by 44% to 3.6 million.
