Apple is preparing a major update to the voice assistant Siri. The company plans to transform it into an artificial intelligence-based chatbot. This was reported by Bloomberg journalist Mark Gurman.

What is known

The new system is called Campos within the company. It aims to completely replace the current Siri interface with an interactive model similar to ChatGPT or Google Gemini. Apple has already tested Campos as a standalone app. However, user launch in this format is not planned.

The chatbot will be integrated into Apple's mobile platforms and macOS. It is expected that changes will appear in iOS 27, iPadOS 27, and macOS 27 in 2027. Until then, the company plans to release a Siri update within iOS 26.4. The update includes features announced as early as 2024.

There is also information about the integration of Gemini models, developed by Google, into the future version of Siri. Apple and Google announced their collaboration in early January 2026. In addition, the company may introduce a new wearable AI device in 2027, in the form of a small gadget that attaches to clothing.
