Polish studio CD Projekt Red is actively working on The Witcher 4. It will be an incredibly ambitious and technologically advanced game that is expected to set new standards for open-world RPGs.

Of course, the production of such a project requires a huge amount of money, and the figures shared by analysts suggest that the new installment of The Witcher could become one of the most expensive games in industry history.

What is known

Polish analyst Mateusz Chrzanowski predicts that the budget of CD Projekt's new game will be $800 million. Half of this amount will be spent directly on the development of The Witcher 4, and the other half will go into the marketing campaign, on which the Polish never spare money.

The Witcher 4 will start a new trilogy that is planned to be released within six years after its release, and the analyst suggests that the total production budget (excluding marketing) of the three games will increase from $583 million to $861 million (prices are converted from zlotys).

The release of The Witcher 4 is expected no earlier than 2027, with Ciri at the center of the game, and events will move to the kingdom of Kovir.

It seems that The Witcher 4 will take second place in terms of development and advertising costs, only second to GTA VI, $2bn for development and $1bn for pre-orders: analysts have announced fantastic figures related to the release of GTA VI.
