Volvo introduced the new electric crossover EX60, capable of replenishing the range by 340 km in just 10 minutes when using a 400 kW charger. In its top version, the model travels up to 810 km on a single charge.

What is known

The 4.80-meter EX60 is built on the new SPA3 platform. At the start of sales, the crossover will be offered in three modifications: all-wheel drive P12 AWD with a range of 810 km, P10 AWD with a range of 660 km, and rear-wheel drive P6 with a range of 620 km.

A Cross Country version has also been announced, with an increased clearance of 20 mm, and protective elements for the body and underbody. It will be available in P10 AWD and P12 AWD modifications.

The base version of the Volvo EX60 P6 RWD is equipped with an 83 kWh battery. The EX60 P10 AWD has a 95 kWh battery. The EX60 P12 AWD is equipped with a 117 kWh battery.

One of the key features of the EX60 is the implementation of the "cell-to-body" concept. In such a design, the battery cells are integrated into the structural framework of the body. According to Volvo, this approach allows for weight reduction, improved rigidity of the body, and increased energy efficiency, as well as more efficient use of available space.

Another important technological solution is the use of "mega casting" technology. This involves large metal castings that replace dozens of individual stamped body parts. This simplifies production, reduces the number of welds, and improves geometric precision, which positively affects safety and structural durability.

Volvo also notes optimized aerodynamics: the drag coefficient of the EX60 is 0.26. The battery comes with a 10-year warranty, and buyers in Sweden will additionally receive three years of free home charging.

The EX60 has become the first Volvo model with an integrated Google Gemini AI voice assistant and Apple Music support with Dolby Atmos.

Orders for the model are already open. Deliveries of the P6 and P10 versions are scheduled for summer, with the flagship P12 to follow later.

In Germany, the Volvo EX60 P6 RWD in Plus trim starts at 62,990 euros. All-wheel drive models start at 65,990 euros (P10) and 71,990 euros (P12). Ultra trim prices are: 69,790 euros (P6), 72,790 euros (P10), and 78,790 euros (P12). The EX60 Cross Country in Plus First Edition trim starts at 68,990 euros (P10).
