Google is working on fixing a Gmail glitch disrupting email filtering
Gmail users have started reporting mass problems with email filtering. The automatic filters in mailboxes have stopped working, resulting in emails being placed not in the appropriate tabs but in the main folder. In some cases, the system does not scan messages for spam, malware, or untrustworthy senders.
What is known
Google confirmed on the Workspace status dashboard that it is aware of the problem and is working to fix it. The company noted that the glitch is causing wrong email classification and additional warnings.
Users are also complaining about delays in message delivery, complicating, in particular, two-factor authentication. Mail may display a banner with the warning: "Be careful with this message. Gmail did not scan it for spam, untrustworthy senders, or malware."

In a comment for Engadget, Google representatives stated that they are "actively working to resolve the issue" and urged users to follow standard security measures when interacting with emails from unknown senders.
