Mercedes-AMG tests the new Mythos series car in Sweden
Mercedes-Benz has hinted at the imminent premiere of a new car. We are talking about a high-performance coupe based on the CLE, but it will not be just another AMG version. According to sources, we are facing the second representative of the limited Mythos series - a coupe with a V8 engine and special status.
What is known
The novelty, which the company itself calls “extreme,” is likely to get a new 4.0-liter bi-turbo V8 with a flat crankshaft. It is expected that the engine will develop up to 650 hp and about 800 Nm of torque.
The Mercedes Mythos series was launched in 2022 as a luxury direction with limited editions. The first model was the Mercedes-AMG PureSpeed, released in a series of only 250 copies.
Published photos by Mercedes show the coupe during winter tests in Sweden. The dense camouflage does not hide the features - a wide lower air intake, a huge rear wing on the trunk lid, and a noticeably widened track.
In a press release, the company notes that the extreme model demonstrates kinship with the popular CLE, but promises an even more uncompromising design. This may mean that the car will receive its own name, emphasizing its special position in the AMG lineup.
