MINI has updated the electric Countryman, increasing its range through more efficient power electronics and an improved battery.

The key change is a new silicon carbide (SiC) inverter, which reduces energy losses and increases efficiency, as well as a slightly increased usable battery capacity from 64.6 to 65.2 kWh.

Additionally, MINI installed new front axle bearings with reduced rolling resistance. Together, these changes have significantly increased the range of both electric versions of the model.

The front-wheel drive MINI Countryman E now travels up to 500 km in the WLTP cycle - 39 km more than before (462 km). The all-wheel drive SE ALL4 version received a range of up to 467 km instead of the previous 432 km, an increase of 35 km.

The fast charging time remains the same: both versions charge from 10 to 80% in 29 minutes at a DC station with up to 130 kW. Compared to new BMW models with support for charging up to 400 kW, this figure already seems modest, but MINI has not yet moved to the Neue Klasse platform.

The updated electric MINI Countryman E and SE ALL4 will go on sale in Europe in March.
