BMW will start installing the updated emblem on all cars from February
Starting next month, BMW will use the updated logo on all its models regardless of the type of power unit. The image was revealed last fall on the iX3 crossover, but the changes went almost unnoticed back then.
What's Known
The updated logo has lost the chrome inner ring that previously separated the black frame from the blue and white sectors of the Bavarian flag. The chrome edging around the colored segments has also disappeared. At the same time, the blue and white colors have become more saturated, and the black ring is now matte, not glossy.
Previously, hybrid and fully electric BMW models were distinguished by a light blue outer ring on the emblem, but the company has abandoned this visual separation. The updated logo, debuting on the 2026 BMW iX3 model year, will be installed on all brand cars.

The catalog number of the emblem for the iX3 is already known — 51145A7A678. The badge has already appeared at some European sellers, but BMW warns that it may not fit perfectly for previously released models. It is also specified that the new emblem will be placed on the hood, but it is not yet confirmed whether it will appear on the trunk lid, wheel hubcaps, and steering wheel.
In addition, BMW confirmed that next month will begin the transition to the updated M logo. How exactly it will look is not yet disclosed. However, it is likely that it will also become more "flat".
