Google has released one of the biggest Chrome updates in recent years: the browser has received integration with the Gemini 3 AI model, a new sidebar, Auto Browse action automation, and the Nano Banana tool for image transformation.

The update is available on Windows, macOS, and Chromebook Plus.

What's New in Chrome

Persistent Sidebar with Gemini 3

Chrome now features a new sidebar where Gemini operates alongside the open tab. Users can compare products, read reviews, plan trips, or gather information without switching between windows.

Gemini analyzes the context of open pages (with user consent), helps complete tasks faster, and, of course, answers all questions just as it does in a separate window.

Nano Banana — Built-in AI Image Editor

The browser includes the generative AI tool Nano Banana, allowing users to modify images directly in Chrome using text commands.

Users can:

  • change the style and color of objects,
  • create infographics,
  • transform photos and visual data without third-party applications.

Auto Browse — Automation of Complex Actions

The Auto Browse feature allows AI to perform multi-step tasks, such as booking tickets, filling out forms, managing subscriptions, or selecting products within a given budget.

This feature is available to Google AI Pro and Ultra subscribers.

Deep Integration with Google Services

Gemini now interacts with Gmail, Calendar, YouTube, Maps, Google Shopping, and Google Flights. This allows users to find necessary emails, check calendar events, plan routes, and analyze prices and reviews.

With this update, Google catches up with competitors actively incorporating AI into browsers — from Atlas and Comet to Edge and Opera. Now, Chrome is transforming from merely a page-viewing tool into a comprehensive AI assistant capable of handling digital routine.
