Stellantis introduces warehouse robots at plants in the USA
Stellantis has begun using Dexory autonomous robots to monitor inventory at the Sterling Heights assembly plant in Michigan, where the Ram 1500 pickup is produced. The system tracks the availability and location of components in real-time, scanning over 36,000 square feet of warehouse space in less than an hour and updating the data several times a day.
What is known
The robots operate within an ecosystem with the AI-based Dexory platform, which creates a digital map of the warehouse and helps quickly identify situations that require attention. This makes material management more predictable and reduces the risk of production line disruptions.
After the initial results at Sterling Heights, Stellantis plans to deploy the system at three more facilities: Detroit Assembly Complex–Jefferson, Toledo Assembly Complex, and Warren Truck Assembly Plant.
The project was presented at Factory Booster Day 2024 and received the Stellantis Venture Awards 2025.
