High performance guaranteed: Ayaneo Pocket Play gaming slider phone will receive a powerful Dimensity 9300 chipset
At the end of the year Ayaneo introduced Pocket Play — a stylish gaming smartphone-slider, styled after the iconic Sony Ericsson Xperia Play R800i gadget.
At that time, Ayaneo did not provide technical details, limiting themselves to renders, but now the company has shared important information.
What is known
Ayaneo reported that “the first smartphone truly created for gamers” will receive the Dimensity 9300 chipset, which was the flagship of Mediatek 2024 and scored around 2 million points in AnTuTu.
Yes, Ayaneo Pocket Play will not compare in power with the most productive flagships, but for running games and emulating classic systems, the Dimensity 9300 will be quite sufficient; moreover, such a processor choice will allow the release of a not too expensive device.

It is known that the Pocket Play will have a 6.8” OLED screen with a resolution of 2400 x 1080 pixels and support for 165 Hz. But the main feature of the smartphone will be the slider form factor. Under the screen, there is a full physical controller: D-pad, ABXY buttons, “Start” and “Select”, triggers on the edges of the case, as well as two touchpads that can be used as analog sticks or standard panels. This approach turns the gadget into a hybrid smartphone and portable console (with a retro emphasis), focused on mobile gaming and classic console emulation.
Sales of Ayaneo Pocket Play will start first in China, and a global release is expected later, but when this will happen is still unknown, as is the price of the gadget.
