NVIDIA confirmed its intention to invest in OpenAI, despite rumors of a deal freeze
NVIDIA CEO Jensen Huang stated that the company will participate in a new investment round for OpenAI and "invest a large sum", Bloomberg writes. The statement came after a report by The Wall Street Journal, which mentioned that the parties are reviewing a previous $100 billion deal that did not go beyond initial discussions.
What is known
In Taipei, Huang told reporters that this could become the company's "largest investment". Meanwhile, according to Bloomberg, he refuted WSJ's claims and emphasized the importance of OpenAI. In the fall of 2025, NVIDIA and OpenAI announced plans to deploy data centers with a total capacity of up to 10 GW, using up to $100 billion in investments. The start of the first phase was planned for the second half of 2026.
Bloomberg writes that the volume of investments in the new round will not reach $100 billion, but the deal remains in the plans.
