The history of Lexus LC is coming to an end. The coupe and convertible will be discontinued at the end of August 2026. This became known from an official letter to dealers, which was published on Reddit and then confirmed by a Lexus representative.

What is known

The Lexus LC500 will be produced until the end of the 2026 model year. Lexus noted that they regularly review the lineup to ensure it meets demand and the brand's strategy. Since its debut in 2018, over 15,000 cars have been sold in the U.S. (as of December 2025).

The LC appeared as a coupe with a 5.0 V8 engine and a hybrid version, the LC500h. The latter was discontinued after the 2025 model year, although it also appeared on the convertible, which was released in 2021. Over the years, the model also received several limited editions of the Inspiration Series with unique designs and improvements.

With the departure of the LC, the Lexus brand finally says goodbye to its last V8. In the future, the role of the flagship sports car is expected to be taken over by the production version of the Lexus LFA concept, but it will be fully electric and without the characteristic sound of eight cylinders.
