The Lynk & Co 08 crossover entered the Guinness World Records by driving 293 km solely in electric mode. This is the longest officially recorded electric-only distance for a plug-in hybrid SUV.

What's Known

The record was set at the Centro Dinámico Pegaso test track in Toluca, Mexico. The drive was conducted under a certified protocol monitored by independent experts: telemetry recorded driving parameters, engineers checked the car before and after the test, and the track length was precisely measured.

A certified driver operated the vehicle. The trip lasted more than six hours at an average speed of 50–60 km/h, with the gasoline engine never turning on.

The traction battery with a capacity of 39.6 kWh played a key role, protected by IP68 standards and equipped with a thermal management system. Additionally, aerodynamics influenced the result — the model's aerodynamic drag coefficient is claimed to be below 0.30.

In the production version, the Lynk Co 08 claims up to 200 km of electric range per the WLTP cycle. The powertrain combines a 1.5-liter gasoline turbo engine and an electric motor, with a total output of 346 hp. Modes include Pure, Hybrid, and Power.

Lynk Co emphasizes that the record does not reflect everyday use but demonstrates the potential of modern plug-in hybrid systems and sets a new benchmark for the partially electrified SUV segment.
