Canon has presented a limited version of its popular compact camera PowerShot G7 X III to mark the 30th anniversary of the PowerShot line, which started back in 1996 with a model featuring a 0.5-megapixel sensor. The anniversary model has a new design but retains the characteristics of the original, presented almost seven years ago.

What is known

The limited series G7 X III has a graphite color and updated front ring with knurling. The body features a 30th anniversary logo for the PowerShot line. Other technical characteristics remain unchanged.

The camera is equipped with a 20.1-megapixel sensor, 24–100 mm f/1.8–2.8 lens, tilting 3-inch touch display, microphone input, and vertical video support. Shooting in 4K at 30 fps without cropping and in Full HD at 120 fps is possible. Streaming to YouTube over Wi-Fi is also supported.

Since its release almost seven years ago, the G7 X III has been popular among bloggers. For a period, the camera was in short supply but remained popular on the secondary market. In August 2025, Canon announced an increase in production, and the model returned to sale with a price of $880.

The PowerShot G7 X III costs $1300. The package includes a Peak Design strap and a 32 GB SD memory card. Sales begin in April 2026.

The company also announced two new full-frame RF series lenses:

  • RF 14mm f/1.4 L VCM — wide-angle lens with fixed focal length ($2600);
  • RF 7–14mm f/2.8–3.5 L Fisheye STM — "fisheye" lens with a viewing angle up to 190° ($1900).
