MANIFESTO Announced — Simulator of an Unprincipled 'Effective Manager' Hated by Employees
The French studio Breakpoint Games made an interesting announcement — a simulator of that very 'effective manager' often criticized by gamers (and not only).
The game is titled MANIFESTO and will allow you to feel like a leader of a large corporation whose sole goal is profit maximization.
What is Known
MANIFESTO offers a hyperbolic and satirical view of the world of big business. The main character doesn't care about the comfort and welfare of employees, only about one thing — to keep shareholders happy, and for this, the numbers in reports must keep rising, profits must increase, and stock prices must hit new records.
In terms of gameplay, MANIFESTO is a strategy with a somewhat intentionally primitive visual style, where you need to hire suitable specialists, allocate them to important positions, and monitor work efficiency.
Over time, the game will require business expansion, opening new divisions, and pursuing unrealistic plans will force increasing pressure on employees.
The developers ironically commented on their project:
Is this a commentary on the current state of the gaming industry?
Oh my god, no, we wouldn't even think of that. Zero chance we would be using video games to comment on the fact that companies have laid off a third of their developers over the past two years. Or that CEOs and top managers receive huge bonuses while regular employees pay for the consequences of their lousy decisions.
MANIFESTO is just a video game, so don't look for hidden meanings where there are none, okay?
When to Expect
MANIFESTO will be released in 2026 only on PC, the demo is already available on Steam.
