The Grand Tour begins a new chapter after the farewell episode in September 2024, where Jeremy Clarkson, Richard Hammond, and James May left the show. Streaming on Prime Video confirmed that the show will return in 2026 with a new lineup of hosts.

What is known

The new hosts of The Grand Tour — Thomas Holland and James Engelsman — are the authors of the popular YouTube channel Throttle House, as well as Francis Bourgeois, widely known as the “viral” rail enthusiast.

The announcement was accompanied by a video on the official Instagram of The Grand Tour, where Clarkson humorously reviews the “applications” for the role of host. He dismisses James May's resume as “boring,” and then approves the new team. He calls Holland a “fun guy,” Bourgeois “that train guy from the internet,” and Engelsman is noted for “once reviewing a car using only sarcasm.” In the finale, Clarkson concludes: “We'll take them. They look good.”

The show format will generally remain the same. The season will consist of six episodes. According to Variety, filming will take place in the deserts of Angola, Malaysia, and California.

The choice of new hosts reflects Amazon's desire to appeal to a younger audience. The Throttle House channel has about 3.35 million subscribers on YouTube, while Francis Bourgeois has 2.6 million subscribers on Instagram and about 3.3 million on TikTok.

The reboot will be the seventh season of The Grand Tour and will be released on Prime Video in more than 240 countries. The production is handled by Studio Lambert, known for projects like The Traitors and Squid Game: The Challenge.
