The release of Nioh 3 — a new installment in the series of hardcore action games set in feudal Japan with fantasy elements — took place on PC and PlayStation 5.

What is known

A few days ago, critics published their reviews, in which they called Nioh 3 an excellent game and a quality continuation of the series. It received 84–86 points on Metacritic, which is on par with previous installments.

In turn, gamers held a slightly different opinion of Nioh 3. They agree with journalists that it's a cool action game with a deep combat system, an interesting plot, and atmospheric semi-open locations, but they note that the overall impression is somewhat spoiled by poor optimization and the presence of a large number of bugs in the game. Nioh 3 lags even on top PCs and for now, we can only wait for patches.

As a result, Nioh 3 received 73% positive reviews with a tendency to increase, while the novelty immediately set a series record for peak online in Steam — 58,500 players and it will certainly grow over the weekend.

For at least six months, Nioh 3 will remain a PlayStation 5 console exclusive, after which Team Ninja plans to port it to other platforms.
