New information about the updated basic iPad model, expected to be released in the spring of 2026, has leaked online.
What is known
Japanese portal MacoTakara reported that the new tablet from Apple will receive the A18 chipset, as in the iPhone 16, instead of the already outdated A16 Bionic.
However, even more importantly, the amount of RAM will increase from 6 to 8 GB, which will allow the affordable gadget to support Apple Intelligence features, as a minimum of 8 GB RAM is needed for this.
According to MacoTakara, the basic iPad (2026) will not receive any other changes in design or hardware, and probably the price will remain within the previous model's range of $350.
