Cyborgs Strike Back: Helldivers 2 Authors Announce Major Update Machinery of Oppression
The creators of the popular satirical shooter Helldivers 2 have grandly announced the next major update, Machinery of Oppression, and as always, Arrowhead Studio does it with a touch of humor.
What's known
First, the developers released a teaser stating that the Helldivers will once again have to fight against the synthetic conquerors, as their previous defeat did not break them, and now the Cyborgs, driven by rage and "socialist ideas," are preparing to attack Super Earth.
The official Helldivers 2 website featured Cyborg symbolism, and afterward, the developers released an overview trailer showcasing upcoming innovations. Players will encounter two new types of Synthetics, one of which is a propaganda machine that shouts demoralizing speeches and shoots with machine guns.
To take revenge on the Cyborgs for the troubles caused, players must head to the capital of Cyberstan and eliminate this threat once and for all.
Helldivers 2 is available on PC, PlayStation 5, and Xbox Series and is one of Sony's most successful games — according to analysts, its sales exceeded 20 million copies in two years.
