The new Škoda Epiq was presented to the public for the first time—albeit in camouflage—on the streets of Porto, Portugal.

What is known

Epiq is technically close to the VW ID.Polo and Cupra Raval. It is built on the new front-wheel-drive MEB+ platform, focused on low weight and high energy efficiency. In terms of dimensions (4.17 m in length), the model is comparable to the Kamiq, but thanks to the electric architecture, it has a more spacious interior.

The design corresponds to the new corporate style Modern Solid. For the first time, a T-shaped light signature is used, which will later appear on other brand models. Epiq is planned with wheels ranging from 17 to 19 inches in diameter.

The interior received a 5.3-inch digital instrument panel and a central 13-inch screen. All seats are upholstered in materials made from 100% recycled polyester. Three design options are provided.

The trunk volume is 475 liters, and with the rear seats folded down—1,344 liters, which is 75 liters more than the Kamiq. A separate place is provided for storing the charging cable.

Škoda will offer three versions: Epiq 35 (85 kW), Epiq 40 (99 kW), and Epiq 55 (155 kW). The two lower modifications are equipped with an LFP battery with a capacity of 38.5 kWh, while the top version has an NMC battery of 55 kWh. The driving range reaches 430 km according to the WLTP cycle. Fast DC charging is possible with a power of up to 133 kW, and in the Epiq 55 version, charging from 10 to 80% takes about 23 minutes.

Epiq will receive the Travel Assist 3.0 system with adaptive cruise control and lane keeping. Also available are a 360-degree view, intersection movement assistant, and up to seven airbags, including a central one between the front seats.

A full presentation of the novelty will take place later this year. In Germany, prices are expected to be at the level of the petrol Kamiq—around 26,000 euros.
