The authors of Black Myth: Wukong showed an atmospheric trailer of the new game Zhong Kui — nothing is clear, but it's very beautiful
The creators of the best-selling game of 2024, Black Myth: Wukong, from the Chinese studio Game Science, congratulated gamers on the Lunar New Year and delighted them with a trailer for the next game in the newly formed Black Myth franchise.
What is known
Action-RPG called Black Myth: Zhong Kui was announced in August 2025 and since then there have been no updates about it.
Finally, the developers released a six-minute trailer created with the game's engine, which means that it reflects the real level of graphics and detail of Zhong Kui, but possibly with some exaggerations.
Viewers will not see gameplay footage in the video, as it shows the captivating process of a mysterious girl cooking a dish for some character in the game, probably the protagonist.
The visual execution has become even more impressive than in Black Myth: Wukong and so far that's all that can be said about the new game. Its details remain unknown, but much points to Black Myth Zhong Kui also becoming an adventure action, like Wukong, but with a different character from Chinese legends as the protagonist — Zhong Kui, who is a deity that tames evil spirits.
Zhong Kui was shown in the announcement trailer and, as in ancient engravings, he rides on a massive tiger in the game.
When to expect
The release date of Black Myth Zhong Kui and the list of platforms are not specified yet, but recall that four years passed from the announcement of Black Myth: Wukong to its release, likely the wait will be somewhat shorter this time.
