Krafton Publishing and Unknown Worlds Studio continue to expand the audience of the already popular survival simulators in the depths of an unexplored planet, Subnautica, and announced the release of two games on Nintendo Switch 2.

What is known

On February 17, Subnautica and Subnautica: Below Zero will be released on the popular hybrid console. Those who have purchased these games on the first Switch will receive an update for free.

On Switch 2, both games run at a resolution of 1440p in docked mode, and when switching to handheld mode, the quality decreases to 1080p, but in both modes, developers promise a performance of 60 FPS.

Subnautica and Subnautica: Below Zero will receive noticeable graphical improvements, smoother and more responsive controls, and full support for all features of Joy-Con 2 controllers.

Both games are available on PC (Steam, Epic Games Store), Xbox, PlayStation, and the original Nintendo Switch. The first Subnautica is already available on iOS and Android, and the mobile version of Below Zero will be released on March 10.

In 2026, Subnautica 2 is expected to be released in early access, but for now, it is announced only for PC and Xbox Series.
