New CONTROL Resonant Showed Phantasmagoric Manhattan and Combat System Features
At State of Play, an extensive gameplay presentation of Control Resonant was held, on which the Finnish studio Remedy Entertainment is working.
What is known
Control Resonant is a sequel to the popular action game Control (2019), but it is executed in a somewhat different genre: the developers focus on melee combat, turning the third-person shooter into a dynamic action or even a slasher.
Viewers were shown spectacular shots that not only confirmed the radical changes in the combat system but also demonstrated the significantly increased verticality of the locations.
The events of CONTROL Resonant will directly continue the story of the first part, but the main character will not be Jesse Faden, who headed the Federal Bureau of Control (FBC), but her brother Dylan - a former prisoner of this organization. Remedy will move the game's action from the Oldest House to the streets of Manhattan, filled with otherworldly creatures. As a result of a supernatural cataclysm, the city took on a bizarre form, causing many buildings to hang in the air, turned 90 and even 180 degrees, and players can move across their rooftops.
The game is expected in 2026 and will be available on PC (Steam, Epic Games Store), PlayStation 5, and Xbox Series.
