After a two-year break, Lenovo is preparing to bring back the modular ThinkPad line — and judging by the fresh leak, the company is doing it on a grand scale. Windows Latest has published the first images of the ThinkPad X13 Detachable Gen 1, noting that the device will be significantly thinner and aimed at the business segment, where users need a stylish and functional alternative to the Surface.

What is known about the new ThinkPad X13 Detachable

The device is made in Eclipse Black and retains the tablet format with a detachable keyboard — an approach familiar from the Surface Pro. The name indicates that the novelty will have a screen diagonal of about 13”. The stylus from Lenovo is placed in a special niche on the keyboard, making its use more convenient.

The front camera will be covered by a physical shutter, and a fingerprint scanner, which can be used with Windows Hello, is located next to the touchpad.

Lenovo is not yet disclosing technical specifications, but Windows Latest reports that it may use the top-end Intel Core Ultra 300 chip as the processor. Most likely, the company is betting on an updated design and improved ergonomics, while maintaining the signature ThinkPad style.
