Apple may release a budget MacBook in bright colors as early as this spring
Apple may add more bright colors to its upcoming budget MacBook. This is reported by Mark Gurman of Bloomberg. According to him, the company is testing several new shades for the most affordable model of the laptop, aimed at students and the corporate segment.
What is known
Among the possible options are light yellow, light green, blue, and pink. At the same time, Apple is also testing the classic silver and dark gray colors. The final list may differ, as not all six shades will necessarily go into mass production. However, in recent years, the company has been actively experimenting with the palette: in 2024, the iMac received seven colors, and the MacBook Air offered sky blue instead of space gray.
Rumor has it the new affordable MacBook will cost between $700 and $800. To reduce the price, Apple may use chips developed for the iPhone – in particular, the A18 Pro, which debuted with the iPhone 16 Pro Max. The company is likely to make compromises in specifications, the number of ports, or the display.
At the same time, they do not plan to save on the case. According to Gurman, Apple will apply a new production process for creating aluminum cases instead of switching to cheaper materials like plastic. The official presentation of the budget MacBook is expected in March.
