Don't Even Hope: Sony Is Not Going to Release Marvel’s Spider-Man on Xbox
Sony Interactive Entertainment is increasingly turning to multi-platform releases of its games, and in 2025 it did what seemed almost impossible — ported the popular shooter Helldivers 2 to Xbox Series.
Nevertheless, the company is reluctant to share its titles with competitors, and as much as Microsoft console users hope, they are unlikely to see a hit like Marvel’s Spider-Man.
What is Known
One of the subscribers asked representatives of Insomniac Games if there is a chance that the popular superhero action game will be released on Xbox and received the response that it is unlikely and such work is definitely not being carried out now.
Of course, compared to the statements in 2017, when Sony said that “Spider-Man will never be on Xbox,” this is a somewhat more nebulous stance, but it is still not worth counting on such a release, especially since it should be remembered that the Japanese company holds exclusive rights to the entire Spider-Man media franchise and even Marvel cannot force it to change its policy.
Nevertheless, the console wars, as Trump boldly declared, are over, and it cannot be ruled out that someday some major Sony franchises may still make their way to Xbox.
