ASUS released a compact low-profile keyboard ProArt KD300 in a concise aluminum case
ASUS has introduced the compact mechanical keyboard ProArt KD300, which is in a 65% format and lacks a row of F-keys.
The company positions ProArt KD300 as a tool for professional work and focuses on typing convenience.
What's known
The keyboard looks extremely concise and features a low-profile design with a height of only 26.8 mm and is equipped with a top aluminum panel, highlighting the premium style of the ProArt series.
The device is based on proprietary ASUS RX Red optical switches, providing a smooth linear movement with a force of 40–55 g. There are no other switch options available.
ProArt KD300 supports three connection modes: wired USB, Bluetooth, and 2.4 GHz radio channel. The keyboard can simultaneously work with five devices, making it convenient for multi-platform work. A PC/Mac mode switch is provided, as well as a slot for storing the magnetic dongle.
One of the key features is the touch panel located on the side of the case. It allows you to control volume, playback, and backlighting, and is customizable through the ASUS Gear Link web interface, where profiles, macros, and key remapping are available.
Inside is a 4000 mAh battery, which, according to Asus, lasts up to 16 months (without backlighting and via radio channel).
The novelty is already on sale in some markets at a price of $145.
