Garmin restored manual Sleep Focus activation in the Fenix 8 series
Garmin has released a new update for its flagship smartwatch Fenix 8 Pro. The device received a special version of System Software 21.xx, which is now available globally. The update appeared almost immediately after the release of firmware 21.25 for Fenix E, Fenix 8, and Fenix 8 Pro, as well as version 21.27 for Tactix 8.
What is known
Despite expectations that the 21.xx series would be the final stage of beta testing, the company returned to the Beta Program. The new Beta Version 21.28 is currently being distributed exclusively for Fenix 8 Pro, including versions with microLED display. According to Garmin, the update has already reached 100% of beta program participants, so a stable release may occur soon.
According to official information, version 21.28 fixes the issue of excessively frequent LTE search banner display and standby mode. Although the changes seem targeted, they are aimed at improving the stability of the watch.
At the same time, Fenix 8 series users received another important change. Garmin restored the option for manual activation of the Sleep Focus mode. The feature can now be assigned as a shortcut and activated manually, expanding control over sleep modes. It is expected that this option is already available in firmware 21.25, 21.27, and the new 21.28.
