A surprising news has arrived, which will simultaneously please fans of the iconic Evangelion anime and admirers of the work of the eccentric Japanese game designer Yoko Taro, the author of the famous NieR series.

What is known

A festival celebrating the 30th anniversary of Evangelion announced an anime series based on this franchise.

The direct production will be handled by Studio Khara, which released the Evangelion rebuilds from 2007 to 2021, and CloverWorks, the creator of "Spy Family". Yoko Taro will take on the script. Kazuya Tsurumaki, who previously worked on the Evangelion feature films, will take the director's chair.

Notably, another important member of the NieR team, composer Keiichi Okabe, who gave the game series its unique and incredibly emotional sound, will also participate in the creation of the anime.

This is all the information about the new Evangelion anime for now, but let's recall that the original series was broadcast in 1995-96 and gained cult status thanks to its philosophical undertones and many religious references.
