Dacia has updated the electric hatchback Dacia Spring. The model received new engines, a different battery, and changes in the suspension. The manufacturer claims that the innovations are aimed at improving dynamics and handling.

What is known

The previous versions with 45 hp (33 kW) and 65 hp (48 kW) are being discontinued. They will be replaced by modifications with 70 hp (52 kW) and 100 hp (75 kW). Dacia claims that the 100 hp version is noticeably more "speedy" on the highway. Acceleration time in the 80–120 km/h range has decreased by approximately 20% compared to previous versions.

The lithium-ion battery with a capacity of 26.8 kWh has been replaced by a lithium iron phosphate (LFP) energy storage with 24.3 kWh. Despite the decrease in capacity, the WLTP range remains at 225 km. This was made possible by the overall increase in model efficiency.

Average energy consumption decreased from 13.2–14.1 kWh per 100 km to 12.4 kWh per 100 km. Additional aerodynamic elements under the body and a new rear spoiler contributed to the reduction of the drag coefficient.

For improved handling, the structure of the platform has been strengthened. For the first time, the stabilizer bar is included in standard equipment across all versions. Additionally, 15-inch wheels have been installed starting from the Expression trim level, and the steering system has been retuned. According to company statements, these changes should eliminate the sense of body roll that was characteristic of previous versions of the Spring.

Prices for the updated version of Dacia Spring have not been announced yet.
