Hyundai added Pokémon to their cars
Hyundai Motor Company announced a collaboration with Pokémon in South Korea. As part of the partnership, themed designs featuring Pikachu and Ditto Pokémon will appear in the cars' multimedia systems.
What is known
The car manufacturer introduced two interface options — "Pokémon Pikachu Quick Attack" and "Pokémon Ditto World Theme." They are integrated into the Navigation Cockpit system. Car users will be able to change the dashboard and central screen graphics, add themed navigation, as well as startup and shutdown animation.
The new themes are available for the next-generation Hyundai Palisade crossover, the hydrogen Hyundai Nexo, the electric Hyundai Ioniq 6 and Hyundai Ioniq 9.

Car collaborations with anime and pop culture are mostly aimed at enthusiasts and associated with motorsport or tuning. In the case of Pokémon, the audience is much wider and extends beyond the automotive community.
The partnership also aligns with Hyundai's electrification strategy. Pikachu is one of the most recognizable characters associated with electricity. Using Pokémon visuals in electric models, including the Ioniq series, creates a clear association with electric drive technology. The company focuses not on technical specifications, but on user experience and customization possibilities.

Hyundai views cars as part of the digital ecosystem and personal space. The ability to change the interface design complements the familiar customization practice of smartphones and other devices among young users. This approach allows enhancing the emotional component of car ownership and emphasizing its role as an element of lifestyle.
