Samsung and Google continue to deepen their collaboration in integrating artificial intelligence into Android. During the Galaxy Unpacked presentation, the companies showcased the initial capabilities of a new approach where AI operates at the level of the entire operating system. The Galaxy S26 series will receive exclusive early access to Gemini's Agentic AI feature.

What is known

Agentic AI is an interaction format where artificial intelligence not only responds to requests but also independently performs tasks. Google demonstrated how Gemini can act on a smartphone without constant user involvement. The system launches necessary applications within a virtual environment on the device and performs a sequence of actions in the background.

In the example shown during the presentation, a user asked Gemini to review a group chat discussing dinner. Artificial intelligence analyzed the messages, opened the food delivery service, selected appropriate items, and placed the order. Meanwhile, the smartphone owner could either use the device concurrently or observe the process and intervene if necessary.

Currently, the feature is available as an early preview exclusively for the Galaxy S26. It works with a limited list of applications, including food delivery and ride-ordering services like Uber. In the future, Google plans to expand support for other applications.
