Amazon has unveiled the first frame of the God of War series — fans will be pleased
Amazon MGM Studios has unveiled the first frame of the series based on the cult game franchise God of War.
What is known
God of War fans will easily recognize the hunting scene of Kratos and his young son Atreus from the 2018 game prologue.
It is worth noting that Ryan Hurst (“Sons of Anarchy” and “Saving Private Ryan”) and young actor Callum Vinson look great in their roles, visually almost completely replicating the game characters.

It should be reminded that viewers can expect a two-season series based on the story of God of War (2018) and partially God of War: Ragnarök, and the story will focus on the relationship between the Greek God of War Kratos and his son Atreus, as they climb to the highest mountain to spread the ashes of the boy's mother, Faye, who was a Jötunn (a Giant from Norse mythology).
It is known that the role of Odin went to Mandy Patinkin. Viewers know him for one of the central roles in the spy thriller “Homeland,” and his son Thor in the God of War adaptation will be played by Ólafur Darri Ólafsson, who starred in the series “True Detective” and “Friends and Neighbors.”
Ronald D. Moore serves as the showrunner and executive producer.
It is noteworthy that the role of Mimir, or more precisely, his severed head, will be played by Alastair Duncan, a Scottish actor who voiced him in both games.
It is not yet known when the premiere of God of War will take place.
