Xiaomi held a global presentation at the MWC 2026 exhibition, announcing the international release of two smartphones — the basic Xiaomi 17 and the elegant photo flagship 17 Ultra.

A reminder that the experimental Pro models with a rear display built into the camera unit will remain exclusive to the Chinese market.

What is known

Both models have excellent characteristics, cool cameras, and support for proprietary HyperOS 3 and HyperAI technologies. We emphasize that Xiaomi 17 and Xiaomi 17 Ultra are almost identical to their Chinese counterparts, except for battery capacity and color choices.

Xiaomi 17 Ultra

The main feature of the Xiaomi 17 Ultra is the large round camera module, which boasts an impressive set of sensors:

Xiaomi 17 Ultra is equipped with a 6.9” LTPO OLED display with 12-bit color depth, peak brightness of 3500 nits, and Xiaomi Hyper RGB technology. The screen is protected by Xiaomi Shield Glass 3.0 coating, which reliably shields it from scratches and impacts.

The smartphone uses the top-end Snapdragon 8 Elite Gen 5 chipset, has a powerful cooling system, and is available in variants with 16/512 GB and 16/1 TB of memory.

The global version of the Ultra model received a 6000 mAh battery (in China — 6800 mAh) and supports:

  • 90W wired charging;
  • 50W wireless charging;
  • 22.5W reverse charging.

For true mobile photography fans, Xiaomi offers two kits:

  • Photography Kit — two-stage shutter button and dedicated video recording button;
  • Photography Kit Pro — Leica-style design, faux leather cover, additional 2000 mAh battery, and detachable shutter button.
