HONOR shared with journalists the first details of the ambitious gadget Robot Phone, whose main feature is a movable camera capable of operating autonomously and responding to events around it.

What is known

The HONOR Robot Phone is designed for the closest interaction with the user, it can nod its "head," continuously records video and photos, focusing on the most interesting events and even "dances" to the rhythm of the music.

In a demo video, the company showed that the Robot Phone can not only "communicate" with the user but also, for example, approve or reject their choice of clothing.

The core of the Robot Phone camera is a 200 MP sensor, mounted on a small bracket with stabilization. The camera not only rotates but also changes the angle of the sensors and moves in all planes.

Chinese developers have provided a Super Steady mode and a Spinshot function for spectacular shots, allowing the camera to rotate by 90 or 180°.

During video calls, the built-in AI of the camera keeps the user in the frame even if they are making active movements, and overall this option was dubbed by the TechCrunch portal as “Apple Center Stage on steroids” (if everything works as Honor claims).

The development of the movable camera required the creation of a proprietary micro-motor, utilizing Honor's expertise in foldable smartphones. The Robot Phone camera received four degrees of freedom and is sure to set a new benchmark in industry development.

It is expected that at the MWC 2026 exhibition, Honor will reveal new details about the gadget, while its release is scheduled for the second half of the current year.
