The discussion about when the space RPG Starfield will no longer be an Xbox console exclusive and will be released on PlayStation 5 can be considered closed, as a second verified source has already named the exact release date and shared additional details.

What is known

The French insider billbil-kun confirmed the information of the Polish colleague Graczdari, who first reported that Starfield will be released on PlayStation 5 on April 7, including on discs.

As with the Xbox version, Starfield will be released in two editions: Standard and Premium, with Premium edition buyers not granted early access to the game. Billbil-kun does not know what bonuses will be included in this version, but it can be assumed that among them will be the controversial Shattered Space add-on.

PS5 users will get Starfield significantly cheaper than it was sold on Xbox, which is not surprising, as the game faced harsh criticism in 2023, and many gamers reasonably believed it wasn't worth the money. According to billbil-kun, the standard edition will cost €49.99, and the Premium will be priced at €69.99.

The French insider reports that pre-orders for the PS5 version of Starfield should open on March 18, 2026, or in the evening of March 17 — probably, the official announcement will be made at the same time.
