BYD Song Ultra EV was shown in series production for the first time. Previously, the model was only demonstrated in official renderings and camouflage prototypes. The public premiere became the final stage before the start of pre-orders, which will open on March 5 as part of BYD's technological event.

Equipment and driver assistance systems

The serial version received a LiDAR installed on the roof — a first for the Song family. The sensor operates as part of the intelligent driving system "God’s Eye" B (DiPilot 300), built on a computing platform with a capacity of 300 TOPS. The complex supports the Navigation on Autopilot (NOA) function for city roads and highways.

Additionally, high-resolution cameras are provided on the front fenders and in the side mirror housings, providing a circular view and complete control of the surrounding area.

Interior and functionality

The cabin features a 15.6-inch central display with a rotation function and a 10.25-inch digital instrument panel. Thanks to a wheelbase of 2,840 mm, the model features a “Big Bed Mode” where the front seats fully recline to form a single surface with the rear seats.

The central console is equipped with two 50W wireless chargers, a transmission selector with crystal trim, and physical buttons for controlling basic multimedia functions.

Mechanics and batteries

The Song Ultra EV is built on the e-Platform 3.0 Evo platform. It is equipped with a single electric motor on the rear axle with a maximum power of 270 kW (362 hp). The maximum speed is 210 km/h.

The lithium iron phosphate Blade batteries are supplied by the FinDreams division. Two versions are available:

  • 75.616 kWh — range up to 620 km according to the CLTC cycle, curb weight 1,990 kg
  • 82.732 kWh — range up to 710 km according to the CLTC cycle, curb weight 2,050 kg

Prices

Official pre-order prices will be announced on March 5. According to preliminary estimates, the starting cost will be around 180,000 yuan (26,130 USD). For comparison, the BYD Song L EV in the Smart Driving Edition costs from 189,800 yuan (27,550 USD).
